Colloredo-Mannsfeld
The Princely House of
Colloredo-Mannsfeld
descended from
an
ancient
noble family
that by the 14th century had acquired Mels and other
possessions in Friuli, North
Italy [9:
1941;
p.191-192]
[4: tome III;
p.343-345]
[10: Band III (1956);
t.37].
The House of Colloredo was divided in several branches.
In 1724,
the Roman Emperor
granted the
title of Imperial Count to Hyeronimus of Colloredo
(+1727)
and his brother, Rudolf [8: Band
1;
p.188]
[9:
1941;
p.192].
The brothers founded two sub-branches of the branch of Weikhard [4: tome III;
chapitre VIII; t.136].
In 1737, Rudolf of Colloredo (+1788), son
of Hyeronimus
(+1727),
received the Status of Imperial Estate, when he was accepted to the
Swabian College of Imperial Counts of the Imperial Council as personalist (ad
personam) [9:
1941;
p.192].
In Dec 1763,
the Roman Emperor
granted the
title of Imperial
Prince
(primogeniture)
to Rudolf of
Colloredo (+1788) [8: Band
1;
p.188]
[9:
1941;
p.192].
In 1771, Franz-Gundackar (+1807) married Countess
Maria-Isabella of Mansfeld (1750-1794), heiress of the House of Mannsfeld /
Mansfeld [10: Band III (1956);
t.37].
In 1789,
the Roman Emperor
granted
Franz-Gundackar the right to add the name and Coat of Arms of the House of
Mannsfeld that became extinct in the male line
[8: Band
1;
p.188]
[9:
1941;
p.192].
In Dec 1803, Franz-Gundackar (+1807),
Prince of Colloredo-Mannsfeld, became an Imperial immediate territorial
ruler when he bought a portion of the Imperial immediate
County of Rieneck [2: p.71].
In July 1806, the Prince of
Colloredo-Mannsfeld lost his status of territorial ruler, when his
Imperial immediate possessions were mediatized by the Act of the
Confederation of the Rhine [2: p.151]
[4: tome III;
p.345].

Notes.
In Jan 1798, Philippine of Öttingen-Baldern
(1776-1842), inherited the rights to the Imperial immediate Lordship of
Dachstuhl / Dagstuhl [2: p.165] [4: tome III; chapitre VIII; t.150]. Since 1792,
Philippine was wife of Rudolf-Joseph (+1843), son of Prince Franz-Gundackar of
Colloredo-Mannsfeld (+1807). Dachstuhl was occupied by the French since 1794,
and the
Treaty of
Lunéville
(1801) recognized these territorial losses. In 1803, the Final Recess of the
Imperial Deputation compensated Philippine with the secularized Cloister of
Kloster of St.Cross (Heiligenkreuz) in Donauwörth [2:
p.194].
